The contrast between a deep low pressure system over Italy and higher pressure over northern Africa will create a strong airflow over Malta and Gozo on Thursday and Friday.
The wind is expected to be Force 7 occasionally Force 8 gusting Force 9 to 10 at times from a northwesterly to northnorthwesterly direction with wave heights over 5 metres high from a westnorthwesterly to northwesterly direction!
Some slight damage may occur, especially on hilltops and in exposed areas. The Gozo Channel ferry service may also be temporarily disrupted.
