The contrast between a low pressure system over Italy and higher pressure over northern Africa will create a strong northwesterly airflow over Malta and Gozo from 6pm this evening till 9am tomorrow Wednesday.

The wind is expected to be Force 7 occasionally Force 8 gusting Force 9 to 10 from a northwesterly to northnorthwesterly direction with wave heights around 6 metres high from a northwesterly direction tonight and early tomorrow Wednesday!

Some slight damage may occur, especially on hilltops and in exposed areas. Rain showers that may be briefly heavy, thundery and/or with hail are also possible.
