WIND ADVISORY

samWIND ADVISORY & SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH WITH VERY ROUGH SEAS AROUND 5 METRES HIGH. Please LIKE & SHARE for others too.

The contrast between an intense low pressure system over the western Mediterranean and higher pressure over the eastern Mediterranean will create a strong airflow over the Maltese Islands tomorrow Monday.

The wind is expected to be Force 7 gusting Force 8 at times from a southsoutheasterly direction late tomorrow Monday with gusts potentially even higher during any rain showers! Maximum significant wave heights of around 5 metres from a southeasterly direction are also expected late tomorrow Monday / early Tuesday.

This will definitely be dangerous for boats sailing or berthed along the coast at Marsascala, St Thomas Bay, Delimara, Wied iż-Żurrieq, Għar Lapsi, outer Xlendi Bay and Dwerja Bay. Swimming is also NOT recommended in these same locations. The Gozo ferry will NOT be affected.

Rain showers that may be thundery and with hail at times are also possible from around 10pm tomorrow Monday till 5am on Tuesday. There is a SLIGHT threat of an isolated severe thunderstorm during this time period too. And rain is also expected to be blood rain (xita tal-ħamrija).
