An intense low pressure system is expected to park itself practically over the Maltese Islands this coming weekend (see inside red circle on GFS forecast map) with rain showers that may be heavy, thundery and with hail at times. Any rain showers may be accompanied by strong winds and flooding is possible in the usual low-lying areas.
